UFO's over London
I am not one to fantasize, not one to take on board weird and wonderful ideas without investigation, but last night, Saturday 4th August, I have no explanation as to what we saw.
Saturday had been a beautiful day, cloudless, sunny and warm, and Mee Len wanted to visit her sister Mee Chee near Leatherhead, half an hour's car ride from Kingston upon Thames.
We spent an evening putting the world to rights over a meal of chicken and salad, feeding the daily arrival of foxes the leftovers, and left for home about 10pm.
After putting my car to bed in the garage, we walked back to our flat through the gardens of Norbiton Hall, under a cloudless and for once a star studded sky. It is rare to see stars in London to high light pollution from street lights and the human population.

After putting my car to bed in the garage, we walked back to our flat through the gardens of Norbiton Hall, under a cloudless and for once a star studded sky. It is rare to see stars in London to high light pollution from street lights and the human population.
Looking up we saw two bright orange lights high in the sky, flying west to east.
The two lights were then followed by a third at a distance following the same trajectory, at a speed that seemed to be slightly faster than an aircraft.
Near to where we live is Heathrow airport, as we are used to seeing aircraft waiting to land in the stacks, or going off on their long journeys, also I have a mild interest in aircraft. I know the flight paths and the stacking patterns. These lights did not follow these paths.
We have helicopters flying over, but their flight paths are always further north.
I understand the lighting arrangements on the aircraft, the red and green lights, the white flashing strobe lights, and especially landing lights which at no matter what hight appear white.
A few years ago we had seen strange lights in the sky of Malaysia in our home town of BM, Bukit Mertarjam, when the family were outside in the garden celebrating Chinese New Year. These 5 or 6 flame like lights hovered in the night sky, then one would suddenly speed up and move slowly away. It took a time that these were paper lanterns with a burner suspended in its' balloon like structure, thus making it a hot air balloon, as seen on recent Thai Airlines adverts.
What we saw last night were not these hot air balloons they were traveling too quickly.
They were not aircraft waiting to land at Heathrow or just taken off, as there were two aircraft in the stacks to be seen and heard.
As we watched, the three lights went overhead with no sound. Helicopters would be heard, I could hear the two other aircraft.
As they flew off towards London the lights disappeared, indicating that the light source was pointing forwards and directional, thus we would not see the light from behind.
Then another light appeared flying on the same path.
Must be helicopters, perhaps military, that was the only explanation, a little too fast, but then we will never know.
Going to bed at 12:50pm, I listened to BBC Radio Five Live, and I caught the last sentences of a discussion of strange lights in the sky, but heard no concussion.
Were they UFO's? index

hi i too see some bright lights above heathrow last night 4 aug 2007 i was sitting out side a pub in hayes due to the new smoking laws and was just looking at the stars due to it being a clear sky when i see this really bright white light. there was two blokes sitting on a table opposite me and i made my self look a bit weird but i had to ask i said sorry mate is that just a plane. then he turned looked at me and says yes not really paying any attions. but i kept looking at it and it just stopped for a couple of mins and then carried on. Then about an hour later i was walking home must of been around 1am sunday morning when i see two more lights and they where moving really weird like side to side speeding up then slowing down right over heathrows runways or towards that area when one of the lights just went out and within 10 seconds the second light just stopped and just stayed there and i didn't see it move again but it was a really bright light like the north star. i sat out side my house for about half hour after it stopped and it never moved again. now if that was a plane or helicopter could it stay in the air without moving for that long. i have never even looked on the net about ufos before but what i see last night has made me look. i typed in google ufo over heathrow 4 august 2007 and found ur blog. my girlfriend thinks im mad but i just think they were weird and ive lived round heathrow all my life and have never seen anything like them before. if u would like to reply please do at alangolding1@hotmail.co.uk

Hi,just read this article by chance & just want to tell U you'r not crazy (well, I supposed U'r not because of U'r profession): I live in London, Brixton, I've had sightings of similar objects/beings (who knows?) recently: 11, 12 19 of December 2007 and 02, 06 of January 2008, all at different times of the day or night. My 'favorites' were the 11 (just in front of my nose!) and the 12 (very close home). I have described them as a huge orange-yellow ball of fire-plasma, pulsing, vanishing. For more, read my posts in You Tube (look for 'cealvaradob').
